Getting from Cartagena to Tayrona National Park
Tayrona is where the jungle drops straight onto golden-sand beaches and giant boulders. It's the most requested destination on the Colombian Caribbean coast — and also the farthest from Cartagena, so it's worth planning properly.
It's 450 km and about 5.5 hours of driving, most of it along the road to Santa Marta. Given the distance, many travelers prefer to spend the night in Santa Marta or Palomino before entering the park rather than attempting it all in a single day.
